SISSI IN BULGARIA
I arrived in Bulgaria just after the Christmas vacation. The children were back to school. We played a lot together but also there was some serious studying.

The most remarkable event during my stay was that I witnessed the most snowy winter in the last decade in Bulgaria. In some places the snowfall was more than a meter deep. It caused a lot of trouble with transport and blocked the whole country. The schools were closed for a week. In the mountain around Saint Sofia School however the winter was a magical fairy tale. Look at me playing with the children in the snow and see what fun we had!

How Sissi re-charged her mobile in Bulgaria
Some curious facts:
In the spring of 2012 the steps of the people in Bulgaria will be producing electricity.

The project is called Pavegen. It is a system of pavement tiles which will be installed in the busy pedestrian zones. They will transform the kinesthetic energy of the pedestrians’ steps into electricity for the street lights. 100% of the surface of the tiles is made of recycled rubber and 80% of their base is produced from recycled materials.
If we collect the energy of all the people’s steps in the world for a day it will be enough to run a mobile phone for 300 million years.
How the children in Bulgaria re-charged my mobile
They used the Pavegen technology. By stepping on the special tiles they transformed the energy of their steps into electricity to recharge my mobile.
