 GRZES AND ELISKA  RECHARGE THEIRMOBILE

PHONES IN GREECE

 We needed:

 a small box

eleokramvi seeds (biofuel plant)

a battery

a wire

What we did:

We wrapped paper  round the box and painted it to look like an internal combustion engine. We made two holes on it.Then we poured eleokramvi seeds through the one hole whereas on the other hole we put the battery which was connected to the mobile phones.

In the internal combustion engine we replaced the diesel by biofuel (eleokramvi seeds) and produced kinetic and thermal energy. Then the kinetic energy was transformed to electric energy which was stored in the battery and so the mobile phone can be recharged.

BIOFUEL

There are plants that can be used to produce energy. They are friendly to the environment. They cause less pollution, emit less CO2  than the fossil fuel and they are easily replenished.

Such kind of plants are the eleokramvi, the wild artichoke, the sugar cane, grain etc.

In Greece the consumption of  biofuel in 2009 was 182.000m3 . From this amount only the 36% was produced in Greece.
