Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I arrived in England last week and school was closed because of the snow and ice! So I spent my first 2 days on my own in school getting to know the building and where everything is. When the children and teachers finally came back to work I was so excited to meet everyone. All the children and staff are very excited about Christmas and are practising their Christmas plays and their Christmas singing which is great to watch! I was too late to join in but I am taking part in some Christmas singing on Monday. It's still very cold here but I'm having a great time and I will keep you updated with everything I get upto!

WOW all the children at Lantern Lane have been working very hard for all their Christmas productions. Foundation did a lovely play all about what happens at Christmas, year 1 did a brilliant nativity (I even helped to add some sound effects!) And Years 2-6 sung some beautiful carols this evening and shared some facts about Christmas in each of our Comenius countries. The parents loved it and the stained glass flags looked fantastic! Have a look at the photos in the photo album! I'm still having a great time here.
We're having a Christmas dinner at school on Thursday, the staff have to serve it to the children before eating theirs! I can't wait! Turkey and stuffing, yum yum!
And then somebody from Year 1 is taking me home for Christmas and I'm going to have a great time, I just can't wait!
Missing you all. xxxx
I had a fantastic Christmas in England. I went home with Ella for 2 weeks and she showed me how the English traditionally celebrate Christmas!
We decorated the tree with tinsel, baubles and lights ready for the presents to go underneath when Santa came on Christmas eve. Me and Ella got up first thing on Christmas day and hurried to open all the presents! Santa was very kind to ELla, she got lots of lovely things. We spent the whole day with the family, playing games, and of course eating Christmas dinner! We ate turkey, stuffing, vegetables...and lots more! Before we ate it we pulled the crackers and I was amazed to find a hat, a toy and a joke inside! The bang it made when we pulled it really made me jump!
Everyone in England celebrates Christmas in a different way but I have learnt a lot about the traditions. Christmas in England is a family time, it's a time to remember and rejoice the birth of baby Jesus and a time for giving and sharing. It's a happy time filled with love and laughter. ella and her family really showed me that!
Thanks Ella!
I've had such an amazing time here in England but my time is nearly at an end! I wonder what I will do in Belgium???
