b)How much is the power consumtion in one year?

Math Problems for the ather children

Energy is valuable

The power cosumtion in our household

H`s not as easy as you could think.

Of course you can get the power from

 the socket

but you have to pay for it the same way as for batteries.

To construct power stations ,

to build the electrical networt,

to run a power station to produce electricity power

and the manpower of lots of people of

course needs money.

Therefore the costumer gets an account from

 the powerstation.

To measure the electrical power in our home

There is an electrical meter in each household.

Meassured is in kwh, that means kilowatt hours.

Watch your electrical meter for a time.

Always when electrical power is used in your home

The wheel with the red mark is turning round.

What`s about the wheel when there are working

only some electrical appliances in your home?

And what`s about the wheel when many of your

 appliances are working?

Read daily the electricity meter at the same time fore one week.

Write down the number into the first column of the table.

Write down the daily power consumtion into the 2nd column of the table.

To calculate the consumtion of the 1st day you have to subtract the number of the 1st day from the number of the 2nd day. To calculate the consumtion of the 2nd day you have to subtract the number of the 2nd day from the number of the 3rd day, etc….

       electricity meter

   8th day

power consumtion off all days

How many kilowatt hours were consumed in one week?

For that purpose you have to add the numbers 2nd column.

Omwhich day there was the highes power consumtion?

Can you explane that?
