HOW I RECHARGED MY PHONE IN ITALY
My friends decided to recharge my phone, using a source of renewable energy and low environmental impact: geothermal energy.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The boiler that produces steam is a natural geothermal reservoir.
Steam, brought to the surface by drilling more or less deep, is conveyed in large tubes and sent to the turbine where it is converted first into mechanical energy and then into electricity via an alternator connected to the turbine.
We used the model of the photos, drawing inspiration from the geothermal power station in Larderello, a small town near Pisa, Tuscany. This power station produces 10% of the worldwide geothermal energy and gives energy to a million Italian homes.

I miei amici hanno pensato di ricaricare il mio cellulare, usando l’energia geotermicache è una fonte di energia rinnovabile ed a basso impatto ambientale.
COME FUNZIONA?
La caldaia che produce vapore è un serbatoio naturale geotermico.
Il vapore, portato in superficie per mezzo di trivellazioni più o meno profonde, viene convogliato in grossi tubi e inviato alla turbina dove viene convertito dapprima in energia meccanica e quindi in energia elettrica per mezzo di un alternatore collegato alla turbina.
Abbiamo usato il modello della foto ispirandoci alla centrale geotermica di Larderello, un paesino vicino a Pisa, Toscana. Larderello produce il 10% dell'energia geotermica mondiale e dà energia ad un milione di case italiane.
