HOW LILI HAS RECHARGED HER MOBILE

During the summer holidays, some students went to visit some old mills on the hills of Versilia. These mills are still working, but they are specialized in grain and milling of chestnuts that grow in this area of Versilia (rye, spelt, maize…). That’s why the students have suggested to charge Lili’s mobile using a water mill. The mill uses the energy of water that runs a wheel and other mechanisms; in this way this energy is converted into mechanical energy that turns the mill wheel. In some mills, thanks to a generator, this mechanical energy is converted into electrical energy.

Et voilà...... Lili’s mobile is ready and she can use it!

COME LILI HA RICARICATO IL SUO CELLULARE

Durante le vacanze estive, alcuni studenti sono andati a visitare alcuni vecchi mulini sui monti della Versilia. Questi mulini stanno ancora funzionando, ma sono specializzati nella molitura di castagne e cereali che vengono coltivati in questa zona della Versilia (la segale, il farro, il mais…). Ecco perché gli studenti hanno suggerito di caricare il telefono di Lili utilizzando un mulino ad acqua. Il mulino usa l’energia dell’acqua che fa funzionare una ruota e altri meccanismi; in questo modo questa energia viene convertita in energia meccanica che fa girare la ruota del mulino. In alcuni mulini, grazie ad un generatore, questa energia meccanica viene convertita in energia elettrica.

Et voilà…il cellulare di Lili è pronto e lo può usare!
